Choosing You Accommodations Is Key To A Successful Niseko Ski
Holiday
You have decided that you want to experience the fabulous slopes at
Niseko. You have heard about the incredible, deep, light, dry, fresh
powder than falls gently from November through May and now you must
decide which of the multiple accommodations are right for you.
Many first time visitors to the Hirafu Village think it is a good idea
to trust a travel agent. Unfortunately, most of the time the travel
agent has never been to the area that you would like to vacation in.
There are Lodges, Pensions, Hotels, Apartments and Chalets available for
every budget and every size party. Each of the ones listed here are
relatively close to the Village as well as the lifts, some have the
lifts right outside the door. Therefore, you may want to check into each
one individually and see what suites your needs the best.
The difference between lodges and pensions can sometimes be blurred, as
frequently you will find lodges listed as pensions and vice-versa.
Lodges are traditionally located extremely close to the lifts; rooms are
simple in traditional Japanese minimalist style. The main bedroom will
usually be the only bed on springs while others are primarily futon
bedding that can double as seating areas. Although private bathrooms may
be available in some of the rooms, usually they are shared with one
specifically for men and another specifically for women. Many of the
lodges allow children and even offer pricing discounts for children
under the age of 12 or free for children under the age of 3.
Pensions offer a much more personalized service than you will find in a
hotel or a lodge. Breakfast and frequently dinners are included,
allowing the guest to have wonderful Niseko style homemade cooking.
Lodging and hotels normally cater to couples or families, while pensions
cater to the individual or small party – usually to a maximum of nine.
Apartments and Chalets are much more luxurious with modern amenities and
more privacy. Ranging in size from one to three bedrooms, both the
apartments and chalets offer broadband wireless, kitchens, private
bathrooms and western style furnishings. Located in the centre of the
village, guests are on the slopes in moments, and yet remain close to
shopping, restaurants, nightlife hot spots and much more.
Hotel accommodations range from small budget facilities with communal /
Japanese style restrooms, close to the beginner chair life through the
newest, ultra luxurious resort with the gondola at the front door. The
only ski in – ski out resort in Japan is located in Niseko, with every
modern amenity the discriminating traveler could dare to wish for.
Whichever style accommodations are best suited for you and your party,
you will find it waiting for your visit. Just do a little bit of
checking on each of the places listed below and find out where you may
want to stay.
